Nørre G’s history.
On thehe 7th of November 1818, Miss Marie Albertine Caroline Wroblewsky
got permission to started a school for small girls. The school was placed
at Nørrebro, and they taught religion, reading, writing, mathematics
and needlework, for a small fee.
Miss Marie, whose past contained a loss of both father and mother and
5 out of 8 brothers and sisters, was of a higher social status, as the
father earlier on had owned a certain number of apartments in Copenhagen.
These were lost because of the many national catastrophes, and also his
wealth. Miss Marie had to send 14 applications to the authorities concerning
the of citizens and education authority, before she got the permission
to start a school. It is unknown where Miss Marie started the school,
but it is certified, that the school in 1823, was situated at Nørrebro
36A, witch today is Nørrebrogade.
Since that time, it has gone very well with the school, and today it got
past 650 students in 25 classes, and is called Nørre Gymnasium.
It is placed at Mørkhøjvej 78 in Brønshøj..
